Craft Time!

Caroline learning to cut!

Rainbow experiment
Milk with a 3 drops of red, yellow and blue food coloring in three places. It eventually blends and you can see what colors mix to make what new colors. It was really cool!

Daddy & Madeline Time

Denny took Madeline to the Iowa Men's Basketball game vs. Michigan for a Daddy and Madeline time. They had a great time eating popcorn, huge ice cream cones, and watching the game.

Playtime!

Holden is all over playing now! I usually can't even keep him on a blanket. He rolls everwhere and turns every which way to get what he wants. The girls are officially on toilet paper roll patrol. They know if a toy can fit through that then they can't have it on the floor because Holden will put it in his mouth. They don't know what they are in for when he can really get where he wants!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Shirts
(Madeline made her clay beads for her necklace!)

Candy!
Heart Pancakes for Dinner
(We usually have them for breakfas, but that didn't happen so we had them for dinner!)

Mommy & Daddy Getaway

Denny had to go to Minneapolis for a long weekend for work and spouses were invited. When he asked me way back when, I said sure! As the time got closer I got more anxious about leaving. After crying once for each child, I jumped in and took off. I was so glad I did. We had such a great time hanging out with our friends from Keota, Scott and Jenni. It was really nice to have some grown up time too! Lesson learned: Sometimes Mommies & Daddies need to get away!

Princess Bib

Denny loves it when I put one of the girls old bibs on Holden! It's not so much the color, it's that it says 'little princess'!

Snow Fun!

I took the girls out to play in the snow and we had such a good time. They will tell you that Daddy is the snow parent and Mommy makes the hot chocolate, but I decided it was my turn and I was so glad I went out. We had a blast sledding, making angels, and just playing. The only question I had was why I still had to make the hot chocolate? Ha, ha!

IPod Valentine Box

Madeline had to make a valentine box for school. I was so excited because I remembered doing this a kid. She decided she wanted an IPod. It turned out so cute! She did all the work herself, except for spray painting the cereal box. She even came up with cute titles for the menu screen. She loves to create!

Yuck!

Avocado was not a hit with Holden! As you can see he was pushing the spoon away after only two bites. He had never had this kind of reaction before so it was so funny! (sorry about the pink bib, that's what you get when you follow two sisters!)

New Toy!

Holden discovered a new toy. He loves that he can sit and play with things now. This one keeps him entertained because he knows the balls come off, but he just can't make them do it! He is so fun to watch!

Snuggle Sisters

On one of Madeline's snow days the girls asked if they could snuggle, have popcorn, drinks and watch a movie just the two of them. They do love each other!

If Winter gives you snow...Make Snowcream!

Snow Storm-February 2011

This is what we saw when we opened the front door!
The drifts were huge! Madeline couldn't wait to get out there even though it was freezing cold!

Madeline & Kayden
Madeline, Kayden & Carter
We finally let Caroline go out a little in the afternoon. She couldn't stand
it anymore. She loves, loves, loves, snow!

Let'sGo Holden!

Caroline loves to give Holden "rides" in his exersaucer and Holden loves it too! They are going to be quite a pair one day. They seem to both love adventure and trying new things! Caroline says, "Let's go, Holden!" and off they go back and forth, back and forth. He just smiles and even giggles sometimes!

Valentine Boxes

For the month of February each of the kids had one of these mailboxes and I wrote them love messages for the days leading to valentine's day. The girls couldn't wait each morning to read their "mail". It was fun and a really great way to stop and think about each of them individually and what each of their special gifts are! I love my kiddos! (Thanks Jenny for planting the idea in my head!)
