We had Madeline's birthday parties on Saturday. She had friends over in the morning and our families came that night. We had such a great time at both. Thank you to all of you that made the effort to come and celebrate Madeline's day. She had a blast and we appreciate all that you do to make her feel special!

Madeline turned 6 today! It is hard to believe that exactly six years ago she came into our world. I'll never forget the day she was born. I had waited so long to hold her in my arms and it was everything I wanted and more. Now she is a big girl in so many ways and it is hard to believe she was as small as Holden not so long ago. Madeline chose a horse theme this year. We have a tradition that we celebrate the real birthday day with just our family and cupcakes. This year Madeline invited her neighbor and buddy , Kylie, because she wasn't going to be able to come to her party. It was a fun night complete with the baking of an easybake oven cake. Happy Birthday Madeline! We love you!

Madeline has never wanted to get her ears pierced until just recently (since Kindergarten!). She was asking and asking to get it done before her party. We decided it would be ok, so on the day before her birthday, we surprised her and took her to get them pierced. She was quite brave and didn't cry or get nervous at all. She chose sapphires for her birthstone and insisted we not tell anyone until after her party on Saturday. She looks so big now!

First Toddlin' to Jesus!

Holden went to his first Toddlin' to Jesus Sunday School class last Sunday! Caroline was happy to be back too. She loves to help hold the butterfly song cards while we sing. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful group of people to enjoy Toddlin' with. We are blessed to call them our friends!

Iowa vs. Iowa State -- Tailgating!

The Iowa-Iowa State game is always fun for our family, so I just couldn't miss out on a little tailgating. Denny and I took all three kids to enjoy the before game festivities. We all had a great time. Holden slept, Caroline snacked and Madeline made friends! I had the kids home in time to nap and Denny went on to enjoy the Iowa victory! Go Hawks!
