Caroline has become quite a Daddy's girl. Denny worked behind our house yesterday afteroon and she could see him from our sliding glass doors. She just stayed there (with her cow and pig, of course) saying Dada Dada and pounding on the door. She would look back and me and make her "want it" noise and then to back to Dada. I even put her high chair in front of the door to keep her occupied while I ate. 
Madeline is like Denny in a lot of ways, but the most prevalent is her need for laughs. Yesterday she came out of the bathroom with her underwear on her head just waiting for us to laugh. She then explained she thought it would be an easier way to keep her hair out of her face. What a goof! I love it.
It is hard to believe that Caroline is only 1 month away from her first birthday. She still seems so little in so many ways. Her new accomplishments this month are walking very well, talking even more, mooing like a cow, giving love and sometimes even kisses, eating table food all the time, making feeling faces (angry is the best), and laying on her tummy and puttin her whole face in the water during bath. She is becoming a bigger girl, but she is still our baby. Unfortunately, she has been so sick this weekend that she hasn't enjoyed it one bit. We love you Caroline!
Caroline started with the flu Thursday night. Her first throw-up was all over the two of us waiting for Madeline to come out of dance. She continued throwing up all through the night and yesterday am. She was so sick. All she wanted to do was sleep. I wouldn't normally take pictures of or post about this, but I couldn't help it. As soon as we were home on Thursday night she had to have a bath because she was covered. At that time she grabbed her cow and pig bath toys and has still not let go of them. They are plastic and hard, so I wouldn't think they would offer much comfort, but she does not want to be without them. We lost her favorite bear somewhere, so I guess these are her new comforts. One for each hand.

Madeline loves to do creative "projects." Painting, glueing, drawing, cutting, designing, etc. She loves it all. Yesterday I began working on the girls dresser that I am redoing, so I gave Madeline this little stool to do whatever she wanted with. She painted, sponged, ragged, and even added some jewels. It turned out very cute. The funniest part was the need to touch it up every so often as the day went. She may be done now, but she's not for sure. It made for a fun time together, while Caroline slept and slept all day with the flu.
Wednesday night was the carnival at our church. Madeline and I went together for some Mommy-Madeline time (thanks Ila for watching Caroline!). We had a lot of fun with getting to have pizza for dinner, face painting, cupcake walking, fishing, the duck pond, golfing, and tossing balls, pennies, and bean bags. Madeline ended up winning 20 tickets, so she got some very cool prizes. It was a great night! She's already planning for next year.
The Boots

Madeline has been really into the farm since before she was 2. We have some cows at Denny's parents farm and she loves to go with Denny and "help" with them. The highlight this spring was getting "real work boots" like daddy's. She is a "real farmer" now. It is very exciting for her right now because all of the calves are being born. She gets a special call from Papa every time a new one comes. We even had twins this year. True to Madeline she has even named some of them. As we walked out to see them yesterday I heard her saying, "Ok, Bill" and "Andrew move over." She was acting all in charge yesterday. Denny asked her why she seemed to know so much when I was there and why she was quieter when she was with him and Papa. She explained that Mom just doesn't know that much about cows, so she has to show me what to do. She even carried around Papa's stick and told me all about using it to get them back when they get too "pretective" (protective) of their babies. I guess the twins mommy is pretty pretective! It's fun to see her in this element. We joke about our girly girl farmer. 
Easter was great! Cold but great. We had a wonderful church service celebrating that Jesus has risen. Madeline has really been into Easter this year because we made resurrection eggs and she could understand the Easter story. We had breakfast at church and then went to Nana & Papa's for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. It was cold but we still had fun. It was good to see our cousins Austin and Nicole and play for the afternoon. Madeline enjoyed being able to eat a lot of chocolate for the day and Caroline loved watching all the action. Happy Easter!
We went to Sycamore Mall to see the Easter bunny Saturday morning. Madeliine loved him again. Caroline preferred the real bunnies. She went crazy and kept saying "moo,moo." All animals say moo at our house! 
Sugar cookies are one of our favorite things to make! Madeline is becoming quite the baker. Caroline enjoyed the cutters and flour!
We love to color Easter eggs at our house. Uncle Brad had given the girls Easter egg dying smocks with bunnies and their names. Madeline could not wait to wear hers and Caroline just hugged hers over and over. We made all kinds of colors and even plaid eggs. Madeline really got into mixing colors and making new colors. Caroline actually really enjoyed watching. I laughed because Madeline showed me another way she has grown. She used to get the dye all the way up her arms, but this year it was only on a few fingertips! Oh, the ways to measure how our babies grow!
I'm a little teapot short and "spout" her is my handle, here is my "stout." When I get all steamed up here me shout. Tip me over and pour me out! -- over and over and over.Madeline is our performer. While I was making dinner she entertained me with this number repeatedly.

Dancing Prince Jack and Princess Madeline
Our best buddies Jack and Bryce came and stayed Saturday and Sunday. The kids had such a wonderful time. The babies played really well and were on the same schedule (good for me). Once they established their territory they got along very well. Jack and Madeline played everything. They played dress-up (we have a lot of girl dress-up, poor Jack), restaurant, babies, dancing, prince and princess, we did projects, painting, playdough, dollhouse, etc. We even took a walk that day. Madeline even fixed Jack's hair to go to dinner at our friends' house. Having four kids was busy, but a lot of fun. They were most excited about having a sleepover. Jack even wore Madeline's pjs! Boy was I tired when they went home! Madeline is already asking when they are coming back. I took a lot of pictures because they were all so funny together. Jack will thank me someday! Ha.
