Our Christmas morning always starts with a birthday party for Jesus. We read the Christmas story, say a special prayer, sing happy birthday, and then have cake. We really believe this tradition is so important to help our kids remember what the real reason for celebrating is. The presents are fun, Santa gifts are great, but without Jesus's birth, there is nothing to celebrate. This year Madeline said her own prayer and it was very sweet and heartfelt. She is really beginninng to get the purpose of prayer. Happy Birthday, Jesus! P.S. Caroline did not burn herself, although she definitely got close enough that she felt the heat!
