The Iowa State Fair is one of our end of summer traditions. We always spend one day exploring the fair. Madelne begins asking at the beginning of summer when it will be and she waits anxiously for August. This was Caroline's first time at the fair and she enjoyed every bit of it. Little Hands on the Farm is Madeline's favorite spot and Caroline loved it just as much. This is such a fun way for kids to learn more about agriculture. Madeline also loves the sky glider, the big slide, riding a pony, and seeing all the animals. She spends most of the day askiing lots of questions. Madeline also discovered a hot beef sundae. Caroline went crazy for all the animals and wanted to touch and hold every one. She would put her hands out and say "mere" (come here). The only problem came when we had to move on to other things. She would cry and cry until we got to the next thing. She also learned a new horse sound by copying the sounds an upset pony was making. It was hilarious. Madeline and I also went to the Snakes Alive exhibit and saw some very big snakes. It was creepy and cool all at the same time. We ended with our annual sky glider ride and Caroline crashed. It was a great time! Madeline is already talking about next year.
